Lesson Objectives: I can identify a feeling/emotion. I can create that emotion in an image using at least 2 scratch art techniques.
Activities: Students will create a scratch art that illustrates an emotion of their choosing. It will use at least 2 scratch art techniques.
Engagement/Introduction: What techniques did we use when we worked with Oil Pastels? KWL (Know, Wonder, Learn) Chart (whole class or individual) What do I/we know? What do I/we wonder about? What have I/we learned?
Assessment Procedure:
- Students will: Select one emotion to create an image of, Get approval from teacher, Grab scratch art paper and utensils, Create their own image of the emotion using 2 scratch art techniques
- Scratch Art Techniques: Cross Hatching, Stippling, Scribble Lines, Criss Cross Lines, Wavy Lines, Contour Lines, Adding Value
Materials: Scratch Art Paper, Popsicle Sticks, Wooden Stylus
