Words have so much meaning when you use your voice to express them! We will be looking deep within the text to notice punctuation, character, mood, and illustrations to help us use our vocal tools and get a deeper understanding of text.
We use our voices every day in different ways by changing our tempo, dynamics, and pitch. In music class, students learn these words as music vocabulary. We will share our practice of facilitating the transfer of knowledge beyond the music classroom into truly integrating these music terms. As we begin to notice those changes while we are reading, we can begin to analyze our characters and their interactions as well as the events in a story.
