Teacher in Residency Program

The ArtsCore Teacher in Residence Program gives teacher candidates the opportunity to spend a semester in a school district with cooperating teachers who are committed to arts integration as an approach to teaching. Teacher candidates from any licensure area who are interested in an arts integrated teaching practice are eligible for an ArtsCore TIR placement.

ArtsCore Colony at the Paine

Colony at the Paine

The ArtsCore Colony at the Paine Art Center and Gardens will invite new teacher teams, who are interested in working in and through the arts, to attend a year-long professional development program. Kicking off with 3 days in late summer, the Colony will provide teacher teams (consisting of at least one arts teacher and one regular classroom teacher both in their first 2 to 5 years of practice) with programming, coaching, support, and time to develop arts integrated curriculum.

Gabriella Wood (Pulaski High School) and Jennifer Killam (Hortonville High School) have received the first ArtsCore Scholarships. The renewable scholarships support incoming freshman admitted to UW Oshkosh who are planning to major in education and have an interest in arts integrated instruction.
