Minors
Studio Art Minor
Required Units (crs.): 24 minimum
Recommended for students who wish for a basic background in the studio arts as a complement to another major.
- Required Courses: Art 102 or 111, 112, 114, 209, and 210
- Electives (9 crs.): Sufficient courses from the Department’s offerings in 2-Dimensional Studio, 3-Dimensional Studio, and Graphic Design to meet the minimum requirement.
Art History Minor
Required Units (crs.): 24 minimum
Recommended for students who wish to undertake a more comprehensive course of study in the history of art.
- Required Courses: Art 209 and 210
- Area Requirements (12 crs.): Students will choose 4 elective courses, one from each of the following periods of art:
- Ancient: Art 310, 325
- Medieval: Art 311, 312
- Early Modern: Art 313, 314, 315
- Contemporary/Modern: Art 320, 321, 322, 323, 324
- Electives (6 crs.)*: Students may choose additional courses from any of the above, or from:
- Art 308, 317, 326, 482*, or 484
*May fulfill one of the period requirements, depending on content (as approved by instructor).
