Artist Talk: September 12, 5 pm, Arts and Communication Center, s121

Artist Reception: Thursday, Sept 12, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Arts & Communication Center, N102

“The escapist allure of immersive environments drives my work, orienting the viewer in a place of comfort and curiosity. The vibrant colors, reductive imagery, and illustrated movements within the “Flow Chart” series of installations are deceptively simple, derivative of early video games, pinball machines, mass transit maps, and schematic diagrams.”

“Natural forms speak to us in metaphors – roots, branches, blossoms…The intention of natural science is to understand our surroundings; but nature leads inward as well. The study of the natural work is also a kind of philosophy.”

Cristian Andersson: I Feel A Second Heart

October 10 to October 30

Reception: Thursday, Oct 24, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

“I am an artist who enjoys painting with passion (sometimes to a fault), and looking at a de Kooning in person first inspired me to paint less academically and start to paint as if I wanted to both dance and tear into the canvas in front of me. An exercise not in restraint and design, but instead in humanism.”
