UWO 2.0–Reimagining the Future of Learning and Working in the Fox Valley

UW-Oshkosh’s distinctiveness is its region–a powerful economic swath of Wisconsin where, just a mile or two from campus, Fortune 500 companies, startups and nonprofits offer Titans incredible internship and workplace opportunities to apply what they learn. The vision of UWO 2.0 involves a once-in-a-generation redesign of higher education to capitalize on this regional strength and embrace the challenges of the 21st century head on. Here, college and career are connected like nowhere else. Students and organizations are dependent on their talent to thrive together before graduation and long after.

UWO’s new academic structure launches July 1. It’s built on a strong foundation of learner-centered, research-enhanced, experience-driven education. It is also designed to be cost-effective and adaptive:

College of Business, Arts and Communication

  • School of Business
  • School of Media, Arts and Communication

College of Public Affairs and Education

  • School of Public Affairs and Global Engagement
  • School of Education and Human Services

College of Nursing, Health Professions, and STEM

  • School of Nursing and Health Professions
  • School of Science, Technology,  Engineering, and Mathematics

Join us to learn more about this vision and how you can partner with UWO to build the future Northeast Wisconsin needs and deserves.

About the Provost

Dr. Ed Martini is Provost and Vice Chancellor at UW-Oshkosh and joined UWO in July, 2023. Prior to coming to Oshkosh, Ed worked at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Over nearly 20 years, he served in a series of progressive leadership positions, including as associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the university’s Extended University Programs division; founding dean of Merze Tate College; and Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning. Ed received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland and his B.A. from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.

A professor of history at UWO, Ed is the author and editor of several books, including Invisible Enemies: The American War on Vietnams, 1975-2000 (2007), Agent Orange: History, Science and Politics of Uncertainty (2012), and At War: The Military and American Culture in the Twentieth Century and Beyond (2018, with David Kieran). He continues to serve as co-editor of the University of Massachusetts Press book series, Culture and Politics in the Cold War and Beyond.

A Minnesota native, Ed grew up just outside of Minneapolis and spent a lot of his youth in Wisconsin. (Yes, he is a Vikings fan.) When he isn’t working, Ed enjoys reading books, playing and watching sports, and listening to music. He lives in Oshkosh with his wife Genanne and their youngest child. Their older child attends Kalamazoo College.
