Katherine Nooyen ’04

Katherine Nooyen ’04 founded Encore Dance Academy LLC in 2010 after six years of working in the banking industry. Nooyen grew up dancing, becoming a member of the UWO dance team while teaching part time at a studio. Her part time role continued after college, and Katherine combined her business degree with her passion to own her own studio. After growing the business and creating a very successful program, it was time to expand. After 14 years at the first location, Nooyen moved the studio into a larger space and completed a full renovation in 2024. Encore Dance Academy LLC kicked of their 15th year in the updated building, ready to accommodate a larger group of students.

Encore Dance Academy LLC instructs over 200 dancers per week in various styles, starting at age 3. The mission is to help students learn the art of dance and encourage their development in both dance and life skills. The Academy is dedicated to teaching dance in a positive environment to build character and confidence in each student.
