Every year the UW Oshkosh Admissions Office hires a team of exceptional students to serve as Summer Ambassadors. These Summer Ambassadors not only give campus tours throughout the summer months, but they assist our office in working the front desk, interacting with prospective students, answering phone calls, and so much more! Our office would not run as smoothly in the summer without them. As they finish up their time with the office, our Admissions Staff would like to take some time to recognize them for all of their hard work by highlighting and sharing a little bit of information about each one of them.
First up is Hannah Anklam! Hannah is going to be entering her fifth year this coming fall as a nursing major. She chose UWO because “the financial aid staff and admissions staff were both incredibly helpful in my college decision process. They helped explain my FAFSA and scholarship aid so well that I felt excited about attending a university rather than feeling anxious about finances. They’ve continued to walk me through the financial aid process through my college career.” When asked, Hannah shared that her favorite place around campus is the music rooms in Horizon Village.

Our next amazing Summer Ambassador is UWO fifth year senior Erin Ellyson! Erin is majoring in Geography and is originally from Neenah, Wisconsin. After transferring to UW Oshkosh, Erin chose to stay because “the more I attended classes here, it felt more like home and a more comfortable environment for me. I eventually decided that UWO was the right place for me!” Her favorite part about the city of Oshkosh is the fact that it simultaneously feels like a small town and a big city. If you’re looking for a study spot, Erin suggests the 3rd floor lobby of Sage Hall.

Rachel is an Oshkosh native and that is one of the reason’s that she chose to attend UWO. She also chose UW Oshkosh for the exceptional education program and the inviting and welcoming atmosphere that she felt right away when she toured campus. When asked why students should attend UWO, Rachel responded, “UW Oshkosh has so many opportunities for every student to experience new things and step out of their comfort zone. Whether it be clubs or organizations, internships, research opportunities, volunteering, fun events, etc. there are always ways to get involved and enjoy your new home. I love it here, and if I had a do-over, I would still 100% choose UWO.” We are so excited because Rachel will not be leaving us when school begins, she will join us for the academic year as a member of Titan Gold Corps!
