This day-long interactive program will be held on Friday, November
21, 2003 in the Fox River Center on the campus of the University of
Wisconsin Oshkosh. For driving directions, see

Cost per person: $25 (includes conference materials, continental breakfast,
lunch, refreshment break, and parking.) ($20 for UW Oshkosh WWHEL members)
Late Registration (after November 11, 2003) $30.
Registration: 8:30 am. The program begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00
pm.
The Workshop
The Focus Workshop was developed by Pat Alea and is based on the book
she co-authored with Dr. Patty Mullins, The Best Work of Your Life
(Penguin Putnam). Pat has spent over twenty years exploring issues related
to leadership development. She co-hosts a regular segment on Wisconsin
Public Radio called Careertalk and is a national speaker and
trainer. Pat will facilitate the workshop, drawing on her experience
in organizational and executive coaching and consulting as well as her
lifelong involvement in higher education as a student, administrator
and teacher. She has designed the workshop to provide participants with
tools they can use again and again to improve their own careers and
to teach and mentor others within educational settings.
The Experience
The workshop format includes presentations, group interaction, individual
reflection and resource exchanges. Participants will analyze patterns
of achievement, explore leadership capacity, define values and goals,
and begin a step-by-step action plan from current reality to best possible
vision.
The Outcome
The workshop outcome is aimed at supporting success for colleges and
universities by helping those in higher education become more strategic
leaders in their settings whether they wish to enrich current jobs or
consider new possibilities.
To Register
Please note that  can
be done on-line (press the button and go to Workshops/clinics) or by
printing out the registration form and either mailing it to Division
of Continuing Education & Extension, UW Oshkosh, 800 Algoma Blvd.,
Oshkosh, WI 54901-8623 or faxing it to (920-424-1803). Registration
is limited to 100 participants. After a maximum of 25 individuals from
the same institution are enrolled, a waiting list will be started. You
will be informed if you are placed on the waiting list. If so, you will
be informed about the final status of your registration by Friday, November
14. Registration deadline is Wednesday, November 11. If you cancel by
November 12, you will get a $15 refund.
