The Women's Center would like to shine the spotlight on outstanding women at UW Oshkosh.
Lori Brown
Lori Brown is an Assistant Professor RN, PhD, CCRN, CNE in the UWO College of Nursing. Her specialty areas include Adult Acute Care, Critical Care, and Nursing Education. Her teaching areas include Pathophysiology and Adult Health Nursing.
Dr. Brown is also a Desert Storm veteran, and was in the US Air Force during the First Gulf War. She worked for Special Operations Command as an avionics technician. Dr. Brown maintained the laser and infrared equipment on Special Ops helicopters.
After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Brown received her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and her PhD from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Brown's scholarly interests include civic engagement of nursing students and professional empowerment. Two of her recent publications include "Baccalaureate Nursing Student Civic Engagement Study" (Dissertation), and "Translation of the Edinburgh Feeding in Dementia Scale to Chinese: A Critical Analysis" (submitted for publication).
Dr. Brown's outside interests include gardening, reading, yoga, and spending time with her family.
