Jodi Eichler-Levine
Jodi Eichler-Levine is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where she also teaches in the Women’s Studies Program and the African American Studies Program. She received her BA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University and her Ph.D. in Religion from Columbia University.
Professor Eichler-Levine is the author of Suffer the Little Children: Uses of the Past in Jewish and African American Children’s Literature (NYU Press, 2013). Her work has also appeared in American Quarterly, Shofar, and other publications.
Her research and teaching interests include religion and literature; the intersections of religion, gender, ethnicity, and race in America; American Jewish life; cultural memory; and religion and popular culture. She is also an avid knitter and fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
