Fall WASAH Workshop -- Wed, Oct. 6th at UW-Green Bay campus

Fall workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and be held at the UW-Green Bay campus in the same building that the summer institute was held. Three morning sessions will include: 1) UW Milwaukee professor Rob Smith covering the Making of the African American Identity/civil rights protest history, and reviewing digital toolbox resources Volume 3 presented by the National Humanities Center; (2) UW Green Bay history professor Kim Nielsen presenting on "Freedom to do What? Sex and the Supreme Court"; and (3) Appleton School District middle school teacher John Wuebben facilitating a discussion on "Teaching History without Lecturing: Differentiated Lessons, Assignments and Assessments that get Students Thinking." The two afternoon sessions will feature: (1) continuation of UW Milwaukee history professor Rob Smith's session on Making of the African American Identity and review of digital toolbox resources; and (2) UW Madison history instructor John Kaminsky presenting on "The New Republic in Crisis," focusing on Shay's Rebellion and other unrest of citizens shortly after the Revoluntionary War completed.
