Fall WASAH Workshop -- Oct 8, 2009 at UW Oshkosh

Fall full day workshop scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2009 at UW Oshkosh. Among the presenters will include UW Madison historian and American foreign policy expert Jeremi Suri. The schedule is listed below.

Evening & Saturday Seminars -- 2009-10 School Year

Throughout the 2009-10 school year, the WASAH Program will host six evening or weekend seminars that will provide teaching scholars opportunities to discuss assigned readings, visit archives and conduct hands-on activities with primary documents and artifacts, listen to guest presenters, and share and discuss content and instructional strategies with one another. The seminars are designed to complement the themes and content covered during the 2009 Summer Institute. Teaching Scholars must attend at least two of the seminars. The seminars will be scheduled during weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/early afternoons. Two seminars each will be scheduled within the CESA 6, 7 and 9 regions. Listed below are dates, times and places for the six seminars. (Note that some of the times, places and themes are tentative.)

Spring Regional WASAH Workshops -- March 2nd and 12th, 2010

In March 2010, the WASAH program will again host two regional workshops. WASAH teaching scholars are required to attend one of the workshops. One workshop will be held in Wausau, while the other workshop will be held in Green Bay. Each workshop will again feature a "share fair session" for teachers to share their lesson plans and work products with others. We will again invite "guest teachers" of American history to attend the workshops. Dates and places are below.

Summer Institute in 2010

A few have asked when the Year 3 Summer Institute will be scheduled. Though nothing has yet been finalized, we anticipate that the 2010 Summer Institute will be occur during the week of Monday, July 19th through Friday, July 23rd, with the possibility of a Sunday evening kickoff on July 18th and a weekend field trip from July 23-25. The UW Green Bay campus will host next year's summer programming. More information will be shared as we begin planning for next year.
