Paul Clark -- Consumer Culture in 1950s (year 1)

Wausau East High School teacher Paul Clark's lesson unit is designed for a 10th grade American Studies course. The unit focuses on American consumerism during the 1950s and will include at least 5 separate day lessons that explore advertisements, consumption and the Cold War, teenagers as consumers, and setting up debate teams.

Appleton West High School teacher Katy Roll's lesson unit explores the concept of culture, leisure, entertainment, and freedom The Unit explores oral histories of Coney Island, carnivals and other areas that provided citizens with leisure and fun activities.
