Founder of Program Visits Campus

The Women's and Gender Studies program had the honor of meeting with one of the original founders of the program here at UW Oshkosh, Dr. Bani Mahadeva.  Dr. Mahadeva came to Oshkosh in the late 1960s and taught at UWO until 1991.  UW Oshkosh was the first school in the UW System to have a Women's Studies program, thanks in part to the efforts of Dr. Mahadeva.  It was wonderful to hear her recollections of those early days and to share with her how much our program has grown since then.
