Veterans Week 2013 Activites at UW Oshkosh

War Through Their Eyes  
Nov 8th 5:30 in Reeve Ballroom
Warriors & Students features the work of 10 journalism students who’ve produced an 100-page book, 300  online journal entries and 30 audio podcasts that focus on the stories of these student veterans, who have  seen a world that most of us will never see.  The hour-long event will include short opening remarks and a  multimedia presentation.  The Warriors &  Students photo exhibit - which includes war-time photos and  personal photos of the veterans - will be on  display. Photos from the first and second War: Through Their  Eyes projects will also be included in the exhibit.

Penny War Begins
8:00 AM in VRC.
  Help your branch claim the ultimate bragging rights in the annual SVA Penny  War  fund raiser.  Bring your change!  All funds will go to support UWO veterans and families. 

Veterans Day Flag Display

Help the VRC Staff and student veterans with placing more than 500 flags in front of Dempsey Hall to  honor our current student veterans.

Veterans Day Popcorn Give Away

 The VRC Staff and Student Veterans will be handing out popcorn and providing information in Reeve  Union.

Veterans and Family Acupuncture!

Free stress reducing acupuncture for veterans and their families provided by the Oshkosh  Veteran  Acupuncture Project

Hear how UW Oshkosh faculty creatively integrate the veteran experience into engaging
 learning experiences.  Presented by Grace Lim and Emmet Sandberg.

Female Veterans Conversation Network
Thursday Nov 14th 1:00 – 2:00 UWO Women’s Center
Female Veteran Conversation Network is a group designed for those females who have  experienced  military life (and dependent spouses who are looking for somewhere to  discuss their own issues). This  group is open to the public. Our focus is to learn what types of issues affect female veterans on campus and  in the surrounding community.
