From the D-Suite
Many of these successes are deeply rooted in the plans we are making for the College. In 2013, we will be revisiting our strategic planning to transform our decision-making into a more programmatic and mission-aligned process.
Strategic planning will occur simultaneously as we prepare for our Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business' International (AACSB) Accreditation maintenance. As the only AACSB-accredited business school in the New North, our stature worldwide is something you can certainly be proud of as a graduate or friend of the College. AACSB accreditation is earned by less than 5 percent of business schools in the world.
Our national recognition is earned, in part, because of the achievements of our students and alumni—accomplishments that are highlighted throughout this publication.
We're proud of our faculty members and their strong commitment to teaching, research and service, particularly as they continue to bring the business world into the classroom and publish their research to advance their disciplines and enhance student learning. We're proud of our alumni and friends who have made positive impacts on their organizations and communities and who come back to connect with our students by guest speaking in classes and clubs.
We're proud of our students who have achieved high academic success, which has led to our College earning the Beta Gamma Sigma (honor society for AACSB-accredited schools) Bronze Outstanding Chapter award, the third-highest recognition in the world. We're proud of our Student-Managed Endowment Fund students and their milestone of surpassing $500,000 in assets under management in 2013. We're proud of our new centers in Risk Management and Insurance and Sustainable Enterprise and our new programs in Management and Interactive Web Management.
This inaugural issue of Venture magazine features many successes, and we're honored to highlight our amazing family of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends.
