Armed Robbery of Convenience Stores in Oshkosh
Three incidents of concern to students, staff and faculty have recently occurred in the City of Oshkosh. The incidents, armed robberies of convenience stores, are the subject of a press release from the Oshkosh Police Department. In the interest of safety and with the belief that an informed community is a safer community, we are also notifying you of the following incident. Subject: Seeking Public’s Help with Robbery Investigations
The Oshkosh Police Department is seeking the public’s help in investigating three unsolved convenience store robberies that have occurred in the city since June 8. The robberies have many similarities and are believed to be related.
The first robbery occurred on June 8, 2009 at 10:52 p.m. at the Condon Mobil Mart, 415 West Murdock Avenue. The second robbery occurred on June 9, 2009 at 6:19 a.m. at the Marathon Ashland Station, 1320 Oshkosh Avenue. The third robbery occurred on June 14, 2009 at 2:36 a.m. at the Jackson Drive Convenience Station, 3700 Jackson Drive. In all three cases, a lone suspect claiming to have a handgun obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and left on foot. The suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties, 5’7” to 5’9” tall, with a thin build and dark hair. He covered his head with a hood during the robberies, and was last seen wearing a green, hooded sweatshirt and faded blue jeans.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have seen suspicious activity near these convenience stores around the times of the robberies, or with anyone who may have other information about the robberies.
