Assault - Strong Armed Robbery

Several incidents of concern to students, staff and faculty have recently occurred near campus. The latest incident was the subject of a press release from the Oshkosh Police Department. In the interest of safety and with the belief that an informed community is a safer community, we are also notifying you of the following incident.

On 5/30/09, the Oshkosh Police Department responded to a strong armed robbery in the 1100 block of High Avenue. The call came in at 3:33 am through the 911 center.

Upon arrival officers found two males in their early twenties who had been assaulted near the intersection of High Ave. and W. New York Ave. Both of them had their wallets forcefully taken, and both received minor injuries.

The victims stated they were assaulted by three to four white males in their early twenties. No further description is available at this time. The matter is currently under investigation by Oshkosh Police Department detectives. Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the Oshkosh Police Department at (920) 236-5700.
