Wired: Electronic Music at UW Oshkosh

Wired: Electronic Music at UW Oshkosh

The Department of Music will present its annual Wired: Electronic Music at UW Oshkosh concert on Thursday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM in the Music Hall. The concert will showcase recent compositions for instruments and electronics by guest composer Jeff Herriott (Associate Professor, UW Whitewater) and Department of Music faculty members Ed Martin and John Mayrose. Additionally, the concert will include a world premiere by UW Oshkosh student composer Nicolas Gutierrez. Music will be performed by Department of Music faculty members Drew Whiting (saxophone) and Alison Shaw (percussion), and students Matthew Bragstad, Monika Greko, and the Quartetrix Saxophone Quartet.   $6.00 General Admission $4.00 Non-UW Oshkosh Students $1.00 Children 12 and under FREE UW Oshkosh Students with University I.D.

This 13th annual Language, Culture and Education Institute, held April 4-5 in Reeve Union, features internationally-acclaimed cultural photographer Wing Young Huie. Wing will share his work at a reception Friday evening, April 4, followed by a performance by the Ripon Jazz Band. Saturday, April 5 will include workshops by Wing Young Huie as well as presentations by bilingual educators, cultural workers, and researchers on issues of immigration, identity, and education. All are welcome to attend.
