Panel on Popular Culture: Sexual Violence in the Media

Does the long-running TV show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit accurately portray sexual violence? What about the Netflix Original 13 Reasons Why? Come explore these questions and more with local sexual violence experts. Panelists include Chris Rose (Department of Criminal Justice), Brenda Doolittle (Aurora Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program coordinator), Mike Bartlein (detective with the UWO Police Department), Eric Sparr (assistant district attorney for Winnebago County), Marianne Radley (Reach Counseling victim advocate) and Shaniqua Crawford (UWO Title IX investigator and deputy coordinator).
