Fox Valley Thrives (FVT), an alliance of public health workers, planners and faith-based community organizers, has been working on gathering stories and photos from residents impacted by limited access to transportation to help make their case to lawmakers. Recently, FVT partnered with University of Wisconsin Oshkosh faculty and students to engage residents in a photomapping project. In this project, photos of aspects of the built environment taken to show those features that made getting from point A to point B by walking, bicycling or using the bus easier or more difficult. The three speakers will present an overview of the process used to engage residents, the strategies used to present collected data, and the lessons learned.
