Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is scheduled to speak at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Kolf Sports Center Feb. 15. Doors open at noon.

The visit is funded by Obama for America and is sponsored by UW Oshkosh’s College Democrats. The event is open to the general public, as well as the campus community. Tickets are not required but pre-registration is encouraged. To RSVP, visit http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/oshkosh.

There will be “open parking” on campus on Friday, but due to the number of visitors expected, parking will be tight, especially around mid-day. People who can car pool, ride city buses, or walk to campus are strongly encouraged to do so

In order to avoid any delay in being allowed into the Obama rally, attendees are advised to not bring the following items to the event:

  • Backpacks, large purses or bags
  • Bottles, cans or other similar containers;
  • Any potentially dangerous implement such as bladed instruments of any type, pepper spray or other defensive device;
  • Signs and banners.
