This year’s University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Homecoming will feature a Harley-Davidson theme. The annual event is slated for Oct. 18 and will include a parade at 10:30 a.m., followed by a pre-game celebration at the Oshkosh Sports Complex.

The Titans will take on defending NCAA Division III champion UW-Whitewater at 1:30 p.m. Titans fans can access the game on streaming video from the UW Oshkosh athletics Web site, http://www.titans.uwosh.edu, by clicking on “live video.” The event is open to the community.

“Homecoming is a perfect opportunity for alumni to reconnect with one another, renew old friendships and witness for themselves the remarkable changes that have taken place on campus in recent years,” said Alumni Association President Traci Raether. Hundreds of UW Oshkosh alumni will return to campus for the event.

Pete Johnson ’89 and ’93 MBA, and Lori Thiel, owners of Open Road Harley-Davidson in Fond du Lac, will serve as the Homecoming parade’s grand marshals. Beginning at 10:30 on Witzel Ave., near the Fox Valley Technical College campus, the parade will end at the Tent City pregame celebration, south of the Oshkosh Sports Complex on Josslyn St.

In keeping with the motorcycle theme, alumni and friends can participate in a raffle to win a Harley-Davidson Rocker C. The Titan Touchdown Club will donate profits to the UW Oshkosh Foundation to benefit the Oshkosh Sports Complex. The drawing will be held during the football game at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 18. At Tent City, Open Road Harley-Davidson will provide a bike and Harley-Davidson apparel for photo opportunities. Alumni and friends also will find free food, entertainment and prizes.

In addition to Harley-Davidsons, all other makes, models, and two-wheelers are welcome to join in the Homecoming celebration, including eco-friendly scooters and bicycles.
