Career Services at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh received $2,000 from Wal-Mart for a new networking event that will benefit women and students of color as they develop their professional skills. The event is part of the Professional Skills Program for the spring 2011 semester.

UW Oshkosh received $126,900 from Winnebago County for the Living Healthy Clinic 2011. Leona Whitman is the project director.

The College of Business awarded $11,100 in scholarships to students for the spring 2011 semester, with two additional scholarships ($100 and $600) to be awarded when decisions are made. These current award winners include the following:

  • Allan W. Gerow Memorial Scholarship ($1,200) : Zachary Mersberger, finance
  • Brinkman Scholarship ($300): Zachary Mersberger, finance
  • College of Business Alumni Association Scholarship ($1,000): Ann Duginske, marketing and journalism
  • CPCU Fox Valley Scholarship ($1,000): Nicholas Huss, finance and insurance and financial planning
  • Financial Executives International (FEI-NE) Academic Achievement Award ($500): Joshua Thome, accounting and finance
  • Miriam Wilma Schlosser-Lang-Gerow Memorial Scholarship ($1,200): Megan Spees, finance and marketing
  • Ross McKenzie Lang Memorial Scholarship ($1,200): Nathan Kilsdonk, accounting, finance and economics
  • Target Case Study Project Scholarship ($1,000): Zachary Mersberger, finance
  • Target Case Study Project Scholarship ($1,000): Brett Collien, human resource management and marketing
  • Target Case Study Project Scholarship ($1,000): Jessica Mueller, human resource management
  • Target Case Study Project Scholarship ($1,000): Darlene Herrmann, marketing

UW Oshkosh has received $61,000 from the Winnebago County Department of Human Services for Truancy Intervention Program 2011. Pat Nichols, Center for Career Development and Employment Training, is project director.
