A poster designed by Kevin Rau, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh adjunct faculty and proprietor of rauhaus design, has won a Gold Award from Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication.

The piece, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Helvetica typeface, originally was designed for Linotype’s poster contest. From there it was voted into the semi-finals.

The Graphis honor ranks rauhaus among such well-known design firms such as, Milton Glaser Inc., Ogilvy and Mather, Pentagram and Pirtle Design. The poster will be reprinted in the upcoming Graphis Poster Annual ’08/’09.

First published in 1944, Graphis is one of the design industry’s most respected publications and is recognized globally as a visual archive of the most significant and influential communication design being done today.
