The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has hired Mr. Duane Goupell as the new director of Testing Services. Goupell has served as the interim director of Testing Services since January 2004.

Goupell has 27 years if experience in testing services. Prior to his arrival at UW Oshkosh, he served as manager of the Center for Learning and Assessment Services at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. He holds a master of arts degree in education and a bachelor of science degree in education, both from Central Michigan University.

Goupell is a member of the National College Testing Association. He has held various leadership positions with the national organization, including chairman of the venue committee, member of the governing board, conference chairman, and president and secretary of the governing board. In 2003, Goupell was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the NCTA.

According to Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Perry Rettig, “Mr. Goupell brings to the University a wealth of experience and knowledge. He has a wonderful reputation among his colleagues on campus and those in testing services across the nation.”

Goupell is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations, staff supervision, budget planning, monitoring and reporting, leading both short and long-term planning, and developing new revenue for the unit.
