University of Wisconsin Oshkosh faculty members have the opportunity to take their research to the next level with a new University Research Professor/Associate Program.

Proposals from faculty and staff interested in taking part in the program are due at 5 p.m., Friday, May 23.

“The program’s purpose is to assist mid-career and senior faculty with established research programs to take their work to a higher level,” said Linda Freed, UW Oshkosh Office of Grants and Faculty Development director. “The program will help build further research capacity and the capacity to win future major grants.”

This special initiative, an outgrowth of the university’s External Grants Expansion Planning Team charged by Chancellor Richard H. Wells last fall, runs independently of the programs supported by the Faculty Development Fund.

The chancellor has committed up to $100,000 in funding to support University Research Professor/Associate Program projects.

Proposals are requested from faculty and staff with established or exceptionally promising records of securing external funding to support their research at UW Oshkosh; and/or faculty and staff resubmitting a major proposal for external funding.

Successful applicants will be designated University Research Professors (faculty) or Associates (staff). Financial support up to $15,000 may be awarded for developing
pilot data and proposal writing.
