A record number of golfers hit the links at Lake Breeze Golf Club Friday, June 9, for the 2017 Football Golf Outing. The fundraising event, held by the League of Titans–Football, involved more than 200 golfers this year.

The number of participants was not only a record-high for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titan football golf outing itself but also for Lake Breeze Golf Club.

The outing included nearly 50 golfing foursomes for the 18-hole scramble, a 50/50 raffle, many raffle items, and lunch and dinner provided.

Pat Cerroni, Titan football head coach, was grateful to those who had a hand in making the event such a success and thankful for all who came out and enjoyed the fun-filled day.

“From our coaching staff to players, we want to thank all the wonderful people that participated and sponsored our golf outing. It was a tremendous success,” Cerroni said.

2017 Football Golf Outing

The golf outing is one of many fundraising events the League of Titans–Football organizes. The event funds the football program in many areas, including general support and support for players, coaches and recognition.

The football program is coming off a season that saw the Titans reach the national championship game for the first time in school history. It also was a season of tremendous success off the field. As a team, the Titans volunteered more than 1,000 hours in the community, including two Feed America Mobile Food Drives (one of which fed a record-high 500 families in the Fox Valley).

The UWO Athletic Department will host its annual Titan Golf Classic on Friday, July 21, at Oshkosh Country Club. Participants have the opportunity to golf at one of the most beautiful courses in the Fox Valley. The event includes food sampling throughout the day and contests with great prizes during the round of golf. This event allows the department to make a substantial impact on individual sports programs. A portion of the funds raised during the Titan Golf Classic is designated to our multiyear beautification project at Kolf Sports Center. Register here.
