Cameron BrownUniversity of Wisconsin Oshkosh football standout Cameron Brown has been invited to the Green Bay Packers rookie mini-camp. The mini-camp runs May 5-6 in Green Bay.

Brown, a senior psychology major, received the news he’d been asked to attend the camp late last Saturday night.

“I was pretty excited when I learned I received the invite from the Green Bay Packers,” Brown said. “I am now ready to get to work and take the next step forward in my career.”

Brown received the rookie minicamp invitation after excelling at a regional scouting combine, running the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and reaching 43 inches in the vertical jump.

For Brown, who is grew up in the Milwaukee area, it isn’t lost on him what an opportunity it is to possibly play for the Green Bay Packers.

“It is amazing to have the opportunity to play for the home team–the Green Bay Packers. A lot of my family and friends are Packers fans. It means a lot to know I will have a cast around me who wants me to succeed with this team,” explained Brown.

Brown played in 37 career games as a Titan, including 34 as a starter. This season he helped lead UW Oshkosh to its first appearance in the Division III championship game. He registered 64 tackles, including 40 solo and 3.5 for loss, and 11 pass breakups.

Brown was named a 2016 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team honoree and earned 2015 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team honors.

“UW Oshkosh is a pretty good program, a program that teaches you not only about football, but prepares you for life after college,” Brown said.
