Colleen McDermott will serve as interim dean of the College of Letters and Science during the tenure of John Koker as interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, Provost Lane Earns announced May 1.

Earns said McDermott has been an invaluable member of the COLS dean’s office staff, serving as associate dean since 2010.

“Her years and breadth of experience, both in the COLS dean’s office and across campus, along with her collegial problem solving, will be an asset to the campus in this critical year of transition.”

Prior to joining the COLS Dean’s Office staff, McDermott served as co-chair of the biology department from 2000 to 2009 and has been a member of the UW Oshkosh faculty since 1991. She also serves as the campus veterinarian.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
