At the Feb. 12, 2008, meeting of the Faculty Senate, Lynn Freeman reported on the SAS meeting, Thomas Becker reported on the OSA meeting, President Wacholtz reported on the Provost’s Staff meeting and James Simmons reported on the Faculty Reps meeting.

Franca Barricelli and Roberta Maguire discussed the efforts of the Liberal Education Reform Team (LERT) to reach consensus on the hallmarks of a liberal education at UW Oshkosh, a campus-wide agreement on essential learning outcomes, and to seek feedback on their team’s work.

The Senate approved Transitional Return to Work Policy and the following committee appointments: Improvement of Instruction — Grady Bullington (Math); and Search & Screen: Director of Affirmative Action — James Chaudoir (Music), David Gomez-Torres (DFLL) and Kathryn Henn-Reinke (COEHS).

Provost Lane Earns discussed his presentation to the Board of Regents on UW Oshkosh’s re-accreditation findings in the context of the University’s Academic Program Plan.
