Jones_DanielleDanielle Jones, assistant dean of students and former program adviser for diversity and inclusion programs in Reeve Memorial Union, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 5.

Jones joined the UW Oshkosh community in 2013 through her role at Reeve Union where she worked to develop and implement programs on diversity and social justice.

“Danielle was a well-loved member of this staff and of this community. She not only had responsibilities for inclusiveness and social justice in her work while at Reeve Union, she also lived it every day. She was so full of passion for all, a friend to so many, and will be missed,” Reeve Memorial Union Director Randy Hedge said.

Jones joined the Dean of Students office in September, where she worked to ensure the success of students with documented disabilities.

“We are so privileged to have served alongside Danielle at UW Oshkosh. She was an ardent student advocate, vibrant professional and an individual who worked tirelessly for students. We are so thankful for the gifts she shared with our community,” Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Dean of Students Art Munin said.

At UW Oshkosh, Jones also served as co-chair and member of the Gender Equity Council, adviser of the Social Justice Club, SAFE Training facilitator with the LGBTQ Resource Center, and as a $tart $mart Salary Negotiation workshop facilitator.

Prior to her time at UW Oshkosh, Jones worked for Lehigh University, University of Central Missouri, Barnard College and Michigan Technological University. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University and a master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri.

For those who may need a resource during this hard time, the UW Oshkosh Counseling Center is available.
