The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh women’s basketball team won its opening game of the NCAA Division III Basketball Championships Friday night.

The Titans began their run in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship with a 63-55 victory over visiting Calvin College. UWO’s Emma Melotik scored 15 points, sinking five 3-pointers, and Eliza Campbell scored 15 points, including six from the charity stripe.

UW Oshkosh, who is hosting an opening regional for the second straight year, will now play DePauw University in the second round Saturday, March 4. The contest will be played in Kolf Sports Center and tips at 7 p.m. DePauw defeated Gustavus Adolphus 67-57 in Friday’s opening game.

This is the fourth straight year the Titans have reached the second round of the NCAA Championship.

Ticket prices for Saturday’s game against DePauw are as follows:

  • Adults $9
  • Senior Citizens (55 or older) $7
  • Students (K-12, college) $5
  • Children (under five) Free

 

Free tickets for UW Oshkosh’s Saturday game are available for UWO students. Students can pick up a free ticket at the athletics administrative suite in Kolf Sports Center Saturday from Noon-2:30 p.m. One ticket per student with a valid UWO student ID.
