Titans Are Marathoners!

JohnDewittAlumnus John Dewitt ’13, qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials held in February 2016. Although the race proved a tough one for Dewitt, he’s already in training for the 2020 Olympic trials. #HailTitans!

Titans Are Inspired!

Last April, students flocked to see “Flaca” as part of the University Speaker Series. Actress, model and singer Jackie Cruz, best known for her role as Marisol “Flaca” Gonzales on the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black,” shared her struggles and determination in a motivational speech, Cruzing Through Adversity. The speaker series brings six speakers to campus each year with the goal of covering diverse topics and interests. #OITNB

NursingTitans Are Nurses! 

The College of Nursing (CON) announced Wisconsin’s first doctoral-level nurse anesthetist program, which was developed to respond to a regional shortage in the field. The inaugural class is set to begin in June 2017.

CON also was recognized recently with an award of distinction from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services for its extremely high student pass rate of 96.45 in 2015 on the National Council Licensure Examination for first-time applicants.  #TitansAre

Titans are Winners!

TeamPhoenixUWO’s student-athletes continued to impress on and off the field this fall. The Titans played in their first-ever national title battle in the NCAA Division III Football Championship at the Stagg Bowl in early December. #ALLIN

Off the field, the women’s soccer team took part in Playing for a Cause to support a former player whose twin daughters both are recovering from heart transplants. Men’s football captured hearts as well, when the entire team bonded with a 10-year-old girl through their quarterback’s journey with Be the Match … an inspiring story even people.com couldn’t resist.  #TeamPhoenix
