The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh football team is headed to the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the first time in program history–the Stagg Bowl is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CST) Friday, Dec. 16.

The Titans will compete against University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Salem Stadium in Salem, Va., which comes on the heels of a victory over John Carroll University in the semifinal round on Dec. 10 at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. The final score was 10-3.

“I give a tremendous amount of credit to this group of guys–they set a goal and they achieved it,” said UW Oshkosh Head Football Coach Pat Cerroni. “They’ve been talking about it and saying the right things from day one. It’s a pretty proud moment.”

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Several community partners and various locations around the state will host viewing parties.

WRST is sending two student sportscasters to call the game–and will be providing a pre-game show starting at 5 p.m. Both can be heard at 90.3 in the Oshkosh area and online at wrst.org.
