Jamie Ceman was recently appointed Web brand and new media strategy manager. Ceman joined the Integrated Marketing and Communications team Jan. 28.

Ceman, who will manage the strategic development, implementation and effectiveness of the University’s online brand, internet presence and Web-based communications plans will also work with various departments across the institution to develop an integrated strategy for use of new media technologies in support of the University’s integrated marketing and communications strategy, according to Jeanette DeDiemar, executive director of integrated marketing and communications.

“The Internet plays a key role in advancing the University’s brand worldwide,” said Chancellor Richard H. Wells. “As emerging technologies continue to develop, it is essential that UW Oshkosh tap those resources to ensure that we remain on the cutting edge of new technology.”

Ceman brings to her new role extensive technical, strategic online marketing development, and administrative management information system expertise, ranging from Web development and Internet strategy to Web design consultation, and online branding management garnered during her previous positions at Miles Kimball, J. J. Keller and Associates, and Oracular.

“Jamie brings a breadth of experience in emerging Web technologies and a relevant understanding of the intricacies of how internet branding, demographics and marketing relate and the complexities of communicating to the diverse audiences that use the University’s website,” said DeDiemar. “As the University continues to mature its marketing and communication strategy, the use of internet technologies to communicate continues to play an increasingly critical role in delivering the mission and services as well as supporting an accurate reflection of the institution’s image and identity.”

Prior to joining the Integrated Marketing and Communications team, Ceman served as Internet marketing analyst for the Miles Kimball Company where she managed all Internet marketing for two e-commerce Web sites: mileskimball.com and thehomemarketplace.com. Her efforts produced impressive results, increasing monthly search engine sales by 40 percent. Ceman also served as a critical member of brand teams, leading all Internet marketing for two different brands, and performed as a lead team member for the rebranding of the Home Marketplace brand. Previous to that role, Ceman served as the e-commerce marketing administrator at J. J. Keller and Associates, where she led all marketing efforts for the e-commerce channel and served as a member on the Corporate Web Site Redesign Team, charged with the redesign and incorporation of a new corporate branding strategy into the site architecture of jjkeller.com. She also worked with Internet architecture and Web development for Oracular.

Ceman is an alumna of UW Oshkosh, having earned a degree in business administration with a major in management information systems.
