The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’62 Ho Chung (BS), of Vienna, Virginia, celebrated his 51st wedding anniversary with his wife, MaryAnn, in March.

’65 Marvin Boyd (BS) and ’67 Suzanne Boyd (BS), of Silverthorne, Colorado, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They enjoy traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their motor home.

’67 Gerald Murphy (BS) and ’73 (MST) and ’67 Caroline Murphy (BS) and ’77 (MSE), of Waupaca, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

’76 Dale Hagen (BS), of Pardeeville, had her oil and watercolor paintings on display at Trails Lounge in Portage.

’77 John Steinhardt (BME), of Columbus, Ohio, released a double album collection of his music. He has 21 albums and 33 years as a performance artist.

’81 Doug Waterman (BS) and ’83 (BS), of Appleton, completed his first year as dean of Information Technology and Learning Innovations at Fox Valley Technical College.

’90 Bobbette Bruce (BS), of Owen, teaches fourth-grade homeroom at Flambeau School.

’90 Joelle Schultz (BA), of Sterling, Virginia, is a GIS specialist for Loudoun County.

’92 Jason Petersen (BFA), of Sussex, has been named creative director for Nelson Schmidt Inc., a full-service marketing and advertising agency based in Milwaukee and Madison. He has been married to Catherine (Heise) Peterson ’92 (BFA) for 22 years. She is a semi-retired graphic designer.

’95 Amy Whitman (BSE) and ’01 (MSE), of Oshkosh, is a high school English teacher for Kiel School District.

’99 Paul Mielke (BSE), of Sussex, was named superintendent at Hamilton School District. He also released his first book Making Teachers Better Not Bitter.

’01 Joe Morrison (BSE), of Oakfield, is a new fourth-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in the New London School District.

’01 Emmet Sandberg (BA), of Green Lake, had his art featured at Green Lake’s Community Center during Gallery Night on Sept. 2.

’01 Renae Schlies (BA), of Kewaunee, is the membership and retention director at the Greater Green Bay Chamber.

’03 Chris Astrella (BS), of Sun Prairie, is the 37th president of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association (WMCA). He will travel across the country to represent and promote WMCA.

’03 Anthony Bird (BSE), of Oshkosh, is the new principal of Little Chute High School.

’03 Jackie Weir (BA), New Holstein, was recently promoted to senior youth market director for the American Heart Association. She has been employed there for eight years.

’04 Matt Binsfeld (MSE), of Kaukauna, is the school counselor as well as a coach and adviser for varsity football at Kaukauna High School.

’05 Will Johnson (BSE), of Ashwaubenon, is a new cross-categorical special education teacher for the New London School District. He will teach kindergarten through sixth grade.

’06 Kurt Lietz (BSE), of Cecil, teaches eighth-grade social studies at Meyer Middle School in River Falls.

’07 Paul Otteson (BME), of Stoughton, teaches music at Waubesa Intermediate School in McFarland.

’08 Patricia Martins (MSN), of Hortonville, joined the staff of Fox Valley Surgical Associates and provides high-risk breast care at Encircle Health in Appleton.

’09 Ashley Drexel (BME), of Mondovi, is a general music teacher for kindergarten through fifth grade at Durand-Arkansaw School District.

’10 Raquel Jung (N), of Menomonee Falls, is a first-grade teacher at Grace Lutheran School in Menomonee Falls. She and her husband Joseph Jung (N) ’12 welcomed a baby girl in May.

’10 Amanda Schuh (BSN), of Jordan, Minnesota, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Fairview Health Services, where she cares for people with mental health conditions. She received her doctorate in nursing from the University of Michigan.

’10 Wes Shemanski (MSW), of Oshkosh, is a school social worker for the Adams-Friendship School District.

’11 Rebecca Klindworth, of Ladysmith, is a third-grade teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows School in Ladysmith.

’11 Meredith Menden (BSE), of Mount Pleasant, is a third-grade teacher at All Saints Catholic School in Berlin.

’11 Nicole Smith (BSE), of Port Washington, is a special education teacher at Columbus Middle School.

’12 Bryan Ernst (BS), of Ripon, is the founder of Ernessi Organics in Ripon. He grows microgreens and vegetables in his basement urban farm.

’12 Amanda (Sunila) McCullough (BS) and ’13 (MS) and Steffan McCullough ’13 (BS), of Middleton, were married on June 11 at Becket’s in Oshkosh. Amanda is employed with UW-Extension in Madison, and Steffan received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in August from Logan Chiropractic College in Missouri.

’13 Barry Derickson (BA), of Oshkosh, is the new football coach for Oconto Falls.

’13 Jessica Geschke (BS), of Horicon, serves on the Wisconsin Coalition for Prescription Drug Abuse Reduction Collation. She also was named president of Stop Heroin Now.

’13 Ryan Heath (BSE), of Merrill, is a physical education teacher at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua.

’13 Katherine Schermer (BSE), of Wausau, is a middle and high school Spanish teacher for the Coleman School District.

’14 Margaret Collins (BS), of Chicago, Illinois, graduated from the Masters of Science in Health Communication Program at Northwestern University. She completed the program while working full-time at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was promoted to the senior member of the lab after one year of working as a lab tech.

’15 Annamarie Johnson (BLS), of Keshena, is the lending and tribal tax department director for the Menominee tribe.

’15 Denys Koenigs (BSW), of Chilton, is Chilton High School’s guidance counselor.

’15 Dave Rosenau (BSE), of Van Dyne, is Chilton’s kindergarten through fourth-grade physical education teacher.

’16 Morgan Fuhrer (BS), of Waupun, teaches third- and sixth-grade special education at Van Brunt Elementary School in Horicon.

’16 Kelly Nelson (EHS), of Valders, is a special education teacher at Ellsworth High School.
