The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’53 Richard Smith (BS), of Bradenton, Florida, wrote his new book “Life After Eighty: A Personal Perspective on Living Well and Staying Happy,” available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

’58 Ray Wifler (BS), of Fond du Lac and ’62 Ben Reehl (BS), of Mayville, are musicians in the band The Disciples of Dixieland . They created the band while music students at UW Oshkosh.

’64 Mary Anne Hill (LS) and (MSE) ’71, of Oneida, teaches college writing at a tribal college and has been a part of creating The Wall of Hope and Healing, a collection of original mosaics and testimonials designed by cancer patients, displayed at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay.

’68 Ron Schultz (B), of Marion, North Carolina, is enjoying retirement from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. He built a log home in western North Carolina and does community service, working with Lake James Environmental Association and Kids in the Creek.

’76 Jim Rath (LS), of Sherwood, will be inducted into the Green Bay Officials Association Hall of Fame for his dedication to advancing Interscholastic Sports and Sports Officiating.

’78 Peter Madsen (BS), of Coshocton, Ohio, published “Book of Boomers: Our Journey through Life” with his wife, Marie. The book is available at Amazon.

’78 Bill Schuster (BS), of Sturgeon Bay, is retiring from being a Door County conservationist for the past 37 years. He will remain on the Coastal Management Council.

’79 Robin Last (B), of Green Bay, will be inducted into the Green Bay Officials Association Hall of Fame for dedication to advancing Interscholastic Sports and Sports Officiating.

’80 Annie Egans (MSE), of Sturgeon Bay, and her husband Dick Egan were honored by the Door County Community Foundation as the 2016 Philanthropists of the Year.

’80 Tom Zak (B), of Oshkosh, has been enjoying retirement from Kimberly-Clark by coaching varsity football at Oshkosh North and traveling with his wife Janet.

’87 Mike Hellner (LS), of Waunakee, is hosting his show “The Mike Heller Show” on WSCO AM-1570 and FM-95.3 in Appleton during weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m.

’88 David Hirsch (BS) and (MBA) ’95, of Fox Point, was named a Summit Award recipient for 2015 by U.S. Bank. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in client relationship management. Hirsch received the award in 2014 and 2008, as well.

’90 Lisa (Krueger) Pugh (BA), of Stoughton, was appointed by President Obama as a member of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. She served on the Advisory Committee for Increasing Competitive Integrated Employment for People with Disabilities. In 2016, she helped pass a new Wisconsin law protecting children with disabilities from child abuse.

’93 Elizabeth Hill-Karbowski (BSN), of New Berlin, has been selected as a fellow for the Duke-Johnson and Johnson Nurse Leadership Program. The program is a one-year experience available through a partnership between Duke University School of Medicine, Duke University School of Nursing and Johnson and Johnson.

’97 Wade Bates (LS), of Fond du Lac, was a longtime broadcaster at KFIZ News-Talk 1450 AM in Fond du Lac. He is moving to Beaver Dam where his wife took a job as head principal of Beaver Dam High School. Spencer Wagen ’14 (BS), of Waupaca, will replace Bates.

’97 Jason Keaton (LS) and (MS) ’05, of Milwaukee, has been certified as a Registrant of the National Registry of Certified Microbiologists.

’01 Tyler Feldkamp (B), of Waukesha, is the director of informational technology at QPS Employment Group in Brookfield.

’01 Dana World-Patterson (MS), of Milwaukee, serves as chair of the Human Trafficking Task Force of Greater Milwaukee. She also serves as assistant pastor with her husband at World Outreach and Bible Training Center.

’04 Clayton Kawski (BBA), of Madison, was appointed by Governor Scott Walker to serve as a judge on the Dane County Circuit Court. He will be replacing retiring Judge David Flanagan.

’07 Jennifer Graef (BS), of Norman, Oklahoma, is an assistant professor in the nutritional sciences department at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

’11 Ashley Lorge (BBA), of Sheboygan Falls, made the top 10 finalists in the Lakeshore’s Rising Stars singing competition.

’12 Jonathan Dudzinski (B), of Pickett, ’13 James Wiciak (LS), of Richfield, and a third partner have created their own line of lip balm from beeswax called Bee Bella’s Lip Balm.

’13 Megan Lund (EHS), of Whitelaw, is the girls head basketball coach at Nicolet High School for the 2016-2017 season.

’13 Michael Schmidt (MBA), of Green Bay, has been promoted to the executive team at BayCare Clinic.

’13 Ben Vosters (BS), of Appleton and ’15 Sierra Ehlert (BBA), of Oshkosh , have organized the Main Street Music Festival in Oshkosh since 2012.

’13 Erin Wallis (BSE), of Appleton, is a social studies teacher at Tomahawk High School.

’14 Kris Bergh (BS), of Neshkoro, is the new Marquette County Veterans Service Officer. Bergh was in the Army for 26 years and retired in 2007 as a state training and operations Sgt. Major.

’14 Chris Bucher (BS), of Waukesha, is the business editor at The Freeman newspaper in Waukesha.

’14 Chad Leviner (LS), of Mukwonago, is the head wrestling coach at Adams-Friendship.

’14 Grace Pok (BFA), of Kewaskum, owns The Nobert restaurant in West Bend with Tony Koebel. Pok and Koebel share chef duties and change their menu daily by at least one dish.

’15 Steven Heil (BA), of Oshkosh, will begin filming a feature film in Oshkosh starting in the fall.

’16 Lauren Muenster (EHS), of Little Chute, is a sixth-grade teacher in the Little Chute intermediate school.

’16 Allison Stephenson (DNP), of Oshkosh, has joined ThedaCare Physicians-Oshkosh as a family nurse practitioner.
