WRST-FM at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will be airing coverage of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. These special broadcasts are a joint production of National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting System and can be heard in the Oshkosh area at 90.3FM.

The coverage of the Republican National Convention from Cleveland runs from Monday, July 18 through Thursday July 21 and starts each evening at 7 p.m. NPR has told stations that coverage will air until at least 10 p.m. each night but may run longer if events dictate.

The Democratic National Convention from Philadelphia will run from Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28, also with a 7 p.m. start time each evening, again airing until at least 10 p.m.

These special NPR/PBS broadcasts will include live podium speeches; expert analysis; and interviews with newsmakers, delegates and NPR and PBS Newshour reporters and editors inside and outside the venues.

WRST is also planning to carry NPR coverage of any debates between the candidates for President and Vice-President.  Also, the station is already planning for a local election night special on Nov. 8, augmenting special programs from NPR and Wisconsin Public Radio.
