The end of an academic year typically conjures up images of students cramming for exams in the library and late nights spent researching and writing voluminous papers.

But what if you had a final project so big that you had to start preparing a full year in advance?

Since spring 2015, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh senior Megan Clarke, of West Bend, worked with her percussion faculty mentors Alison Shaw and Elizabeth DeLamater to plan, practice and perfect her “capstone” performance held recently in the Music Hall at the Arts and Communications Center.

Clarke had to build up her stamina to perform the hour-long senior recital of six pieces on the marimba, timpani and drum set.
