Nightingale_web2The  Oshkosh Student Nurses Association (OSNA) recently donated $25,000 to support the new College of Nursing history wall in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s extensively renovated Clow Nursing complex.

The wall includes photos and memories that depict 50 years of developing caring and scholarly nurse leaders at UWO. The historical display, which will be formally dedicated during the Clow grand opening on Friday, May 13, will be located outside the college’s Simulation Center.

“The OSNA board recognized the importance of seeing how nursing has evolved and wanted to pay tribute to that and make sure that the history wall could be completed,” said OSNA President Molly Merrill, a senior nursing student from Oshkosh set to graduate this month.

OSNA, which meets biweekly and is advised by UWO senior lecturer Rebecca Cleveland, also runs a blood drive on campus, participates in Hands on Oshkosh and the Shamrock Shuffle and holds bake sales to support students.

“OSNA has been a huge part of my college career,” Merrill said. “This organization has helped shape my leadership abilities and communication skills… both necessary for my future career in nursing.”
