One of only four Bayeux Tapestry replicas in the world will be on display at the Engler Center at Chilton High School on Tuesday, May 10 as part of the ArtsCore program, a collaboration with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

A 230-foot-long, 18-inch-high replica of the Bayeux Tapestry depicts the events of 1066 leading up to the Norman conquest of England. The replica consists of 50 panels of linen with acrylic paint to match the original tapestry’s embroidered scenes of shipbuilding and battles, unfolding like a newsreel.

From 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Chilton Public School teachers and students will view the tapestry and produce arts integration projects.

The public can view the tapestry and participate in the Chilton Public Schools Arts Integration Gallery Walk from 5:30  to 7 p.m., with a 20-minute tapestry tour from UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt at 6:15 p.m.
