On Wednesday, July 8 from 8-10 a.m., the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and Competitive Wisconsin, Inc. will host this region’s BE BOLD III: Accelerate Wisconsin briefing event, one of several briefings being held statewide to advance knowledge of economic opportunities and advancements.

The briefing event, which will be held at the UW Oshkosh Alumni Welcome and Conference Center, will include an overview of the research made through the BE BOLD initiative, a panel discussion and opportunities for local stakeholders to give input on current economic issues.

Dr. Martin Rudd, CEO/Dean of UWFox, and Andrew Leavitt, Chancellor, UW Oshkosh, will be available to speak about the BE BOLD initiative and its impact on economic activities in Wisconsin; representatives from Competitive Wisconsin, Inc., Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, University of Wisconsin System and the BE BOLD Council will also be at the event.

Competitive Wisconsin is a nonpartisan coalition engaging business, higher education, agriculture and labor. Competitive Wisconsin is uniquely positioned to provide the opportunity to bring groups together to provide analysis and recommend action on issues affecting Wisconsin’s economy and quality of life.

The BE BOLD process is driven by a robust collaboration that results in visionary strategic economic strategies, strategies that identify opportunities to strengthen Wisconsin’s economy and help our businesses, educational institutions and governments work together more effectively. Like BE BOLD I and II, BE BOLD III will identify a pivotal issue of statewide importance; conduct comprehensive research; collect expert, stakeholder and public input; and create specific, considered recommendations that will address the issue and help prosper Wisconsin’s economy.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
