STATEMENT FROM UW OSHKOSH CHANCELLOR ANDREW J. LEAVITT, APRIL 6, 2015:

Last week we announced a new voluntary retirement incentive program as a tool to begin preparing and planning for a reduction in our upcoming state budget. The Voluntary Retirement Incentive Options Program is now available for UW Oshkosh personnel and provides a one-time retirement incentive payment equal to 50 percent of your base salary, as of March 1, 2015.

In response to the constructive and informative feedback gained through open sessions held last week, I’m announcing some updates to the program.

The following outlines the revised eligibility requirements:

  • Employees 55 years of age or older (formerly 60+);
  • At least 10 years of service (formerly 25 years of service); and
  • Must retire between July 1, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2015 (formerly July 1–August 31)

The extended retirement timeframe will allow departments to better prepare and rehire critical positions. We do not want to leave gaps in the workforce that could impact course availability or hinder student success.

If you have an interest in learning more about this retirement incentive options program, please attend the open forum this afternoon at 12:40 p.m. in Reeve Union, Room 202, for additional information and discussion.
