The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’70 Hans-Peter Kohlhoff (EHS), of Beaver Dam, was featured with the Racine Unified School District German Program in the A+ section of The Journal Times in Racine. He is the German teacher at Washington Park High School.

’72 Paul Anger (LS), of Detroit, Mich., is the editor and publisher of the Detroit Free Press and has received the Neal Shine Award for media commitment to philanthropy.

’76 James Zeirke (LS), of Sussex, retired from the Waukesha fire department in 2006. He is currently doing insurance underwriting inspections and risk consulting for Overland Solutions.

’77 Robert Harvey (N), of Schenectady, N.Y., has retired from New York City Office of Mental Health as a community mental health nurse. He credits UWO and the College of Nursing for his positive college experience.

’79 Karen (Reetz) Bluhm (LS), of Elkhorn, made a career change from a social worker to a certified personal trainer.

’83 Eric Golla (LS) and ’88 (MBA), of Phoenix, Ariz., earned a doctorate in business in 2012. He also participated as a keynote speaker on innovation and leadership at the 2013 Global Business, Marketing, Finance and Economics Research Conference in Los Angeles.

’84 Patricia Reiher (LS), of Fond du Lac, is one of Plymouth Arts Center’s featured artists in its exhibit titled Journey Into Color. Her sculptural ceramics and jewelry were shown through November.

’88 Sandra (Lindich) Goldsworthy (B), of Wales, will debut her fantasy novel, “Aftermath,” in December.

’89 Sandra (Brown) Simpson (LS), of Spokane, Wash., has been promoted to associate dean of academic affairs at Gonzaga University School of Law. She also was appointed as a co-director for the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning.

’90 Lyn (Moede) Rogers (LS), of Milwaukee, presented the American flag on Veterans Day at the Milwaukee Bucks game. She is a retired veteran and served in Iraq.

’94 Ronald Thomas (EHS), of Clearwater, Fla., has taught at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School and Osceola High School since moving to Florida in 2007.

’95 Rebecca (Averbeck) Kanable (LS), of Milton, has been hired as the news editor for The Milton Courier.

’95 David Kelley-Daithi (LS), of Madison, will have his art work displayed in the Thrasher Annex Gallery in Green Lake through December.

’96 Alfred Johnson (EHS), and ’95 Shawna (Erdman) Johnson (N), of Sun Prairie, have two boys named Alfie and Ben. Alfred serves as the director for the Bureau of Assisted Living.

’97 Sherrie Gilbert (N) and ’01 (MSN), of Wakefield, Mich., is a board certified nurse practitioner who has moved her practice to Cumberland Healthcare in Turtle Lake.

’99 Nathaniel Rewey (LS), of Humacao, Puerto Rico, is an MBA candidate at the University of Puerto Rico and is expected to graduate in May.

’00 Brad Keil (MPA), of Middleton, is the director of facility services at Wisconsin Physicians Service Health Insurance, after working nearly 30 years in law enforcement.

’02 Tom Janssen (LS), of Mosinee, has accepted a promotion to lieutenant from the Mosinee Fire District.

’03 April (Williams) Dzierzewski (LS), of Waukesha, and her husband, Daniel, are expecting their first child in April.

’06 Matthew Dorner (LS), of Milwaukee, has been hired as the economic development director for Milwaukee Downtown Business Improvement District No. 21.

’06 Nicholas Jaworski (LS), of Highwood, Ill., is working to bring foreign language programming to children in the U.S. to prepare them for today’s globalized economy. He spent nearly a decade abroad in China, Turkey and Vietnam to provide secondary language teaching and school leadership.

’06 Erin (Zielinski) Jensen (B) and ’11 (N), of Neenah, has been hired as commercial loan servicing lead for First National Bank Fox Valley.

’09 Tiffany Kedzierski (LS), of Oak Creek, graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a doctorate in nursing practice.

’13 Ashley Andersen (EHS), of Saint Cloud, Minn., is completing her master’s degree in college counseling and student development at St. Cloud State University and will be traveling to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, for an internship at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

’14 Lisa Simanek (EHS), of Racine, has been hired as a sports and field services assistant for Special Olympics Wisconsin and will work at the headquarters in Madison.
