Michelle Loker, who works in Information Technology for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, has been named the recipient of the October STAR Award.

She was nominated by Sally Masters, Associate Director for the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center (UARC).

Portions of Michelle’s nomination follow:

“Michelle Loker has been an invaluable resource to the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center as I have reached out to her to request tailored training for advisers in the UARC. More than once I have asked Michelle if she could create and facilitate training to assist advisers in the more efficient use of Microsoft Word and Windows, but specifically related to our work. Creating tailored workshops was certainly additional work for Michelle as she went above and beyond the scope of her work to provide relevant training for advisers.

“Not only did Michelle tailor the workshops, but the information and the manner in which she provided instruction was exactly what we needed. She imparted knowledge and tips that were beneficial and useful to everyone, no matter their skill level. Michelle did a phenomenal job. Because of comments in the office after the workshops several other advisers are looking forward to taking advantage of Michelle’s training workshops in the future.

“Michelle is an asset to the UWO community and I appreciate her willingness to be flexible and creative in the trainings she has provided for the UARC.”
