The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office:

’70 Dale Race (EHS), of New Franken, will be inducted into  the Hall of Fame at Marinette High School on Oct. 4. This will mark his sixth hall of fame induction, which includes UW Oshkosh’s Hall of Fame.

’71 Linda (Leary) Dann (LS), of Cinnaminson, N.J., retired curriculum coordinator from the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital, works as a consultant on children’s mental health and special education.

’76 David Wilfert (B), of Two Rivers, owns Wilfert Farms in Manitowoc County with his wife Terri Wilfert. The 138-year-old farm with 22 miles of irrigation pipe has become one of the largest and most respected fruit and fresh market vegetable suppliers in northeast Wisconsin.

’84 Shelly (Sippl) Weisheipl (N), of Oshkosh, transitioned from being a labor and delivery nurse to a midwife 19 years ago. She works with the Kaldas Center and helps women throughout the Fox Valley.

’87 Christine Grimm (N), of Watertown, an RN-labor and delivery nurse at UW-Watertown Regional Medical Center, became a level 2 foster care parent.

’88 Carolyn Laabs (MSN), of Franklin, was inducted into Grafton High School Hall of Fame in September. She is a nurse practitioner and supervisor at St. Ben’s Clinic for Homeless in Milwaukee.

’90 Patricia (Zietlow) Miller (LS), and ’00 (MS), of Fitchburg, won the 2014 Golden Kite Award for the best picture book text. It was presented at the National Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) conference, in Los Angeles, Calif. Her acceptance speech can be viewed on YouTube by searching “SCBWI Zietlow.”

’94 Bonnie (Krienitz) Little (EHS), of Gresham, is co-owner of LadyBeez Designs, a girl’s clothing line, with her daughter, Brittany Jahnke. Also, she is a retired school teacher and survivor of Guillain-Barre syndrome.

’94 Erich Utrie (EHS), of Jefferson, an eighth-grade social studies teacher in the School District of Jefferson, received a $17,000 grant from the Entertainment Software Association Foundation. Also, he is an ambassador for the 2014 Colonial Williamsburg Master Teacher program and was a Kohl Fellow in 2013.

’96 Terry Yakes (B), of South Elgin, Ill., earned a position as Midwest regional sales representative for Wixon, a manufacturer of seasonings, flavors and technologies for the food beverage industry

’98 Judith Lux (MBA), of Fond du Lac, was sworn in as a district board member for Moraine Park Technical College in July. Lux will serve a three-year term. Lux is a materials team leader at Mid-States Aluminum Corp.

’99 Janine Hoogland (LS), of Phillips, serves as local coordinator for the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Founded in 1947, CIEE is the country’s oldest and largest nonprofit educational exchange organization.

’00 Debra Wallner (MBA), of Wisconsin Rapids, has spent 14 years as an instructor of business and marketing at Mid-State Technical College.

’01 Matthew Andrews (MBA), of West Bend, has been hired by Ziegler Companies, a specialty investment bank and full-service brokerage firm, as a senior vice president and financial adviser for the West Bend branch.

’01 Elise (Feldhausen) Constantini (B), of Milton, is the new vice president of credit administration for the Bank of New Glarus and Sugar River Banks.

’04 Michelle Gross (LS), of Wauwatosa, is the college advising director at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. She was previously employed at UW Oshkosh as a residence hall director and academic adviser.

’06 Loren Dieck (LS), of Oshkosh, is the new parks director for Outagamie County.

’06 Laura (Dibley) Steinbacher (MBA), of Neenah, accepted a position with Rockline Industries in Sheboygan, as a product manager.

’07 Ryan Scray (LLCE) and sister, ’10 Kayla Scray (B), of De Pere, are the fourth generation to operate the Scray Cheese Co., in Rockland, Wis.

’07 Danielle Vanevenhoven (N), and ’10 (MSN), of Combined Locks, has made a transition from ThedaCare Physicians-Neenah West to ThedaCare Physicians-Darboy, as a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine.

’08 Kirk Nichols (EHS), of Oshkosh, is a new kindergarten teacher at Mount Horeb Early Learning Center.

’08 Mary Williams (N), of Appleton, is a board-certified nurse midwife trained in one of the oldest and prestigious midwifery schools in the country. She works with the Kaldas Center and serves women in the Fox Valley and surrounding areas.

’09 Matthew Bessen (EHS), of Colfax, is the new health, exercise science and athletics courses instructor for UW-Barron County. He also is UW-Barron’s athletic director.

’09 Megan Sheridan (LS), of West Bend, became editor of the Columbus Journal after spending nearly five years at the Daily Citizen, covering the cities of Horicon and Mayville.

’11 Jonathan Feyen (LS), of Milwaukee, is working on a master’s degree in sport management at Cardinal Stritch University.

’11 Travis Karlgaard (LS), of Winneconne, was the 2014 summer collections intern for the New London Public Museum’s Lothar Kohnke Native American Collection.

’12 Erica Brooks (EHS), of Oshkosh, received a master’s of arts in communication from the University of Southern Indiana and is Wisconsin Covenant Coordinator in the Office of Admissions at UW Oshkosh.

’12 Jacey Holcomb (LS), of Oregon, has earned a master’s degree in higher education from the UW-Whitewater.

’12 Kalli Nee (LS), of Oshkosh, has been promoted to vocational coordinator at Goodwill Community Center.

’13 Kevin Vanderloop (B), of Kaukauna, planning intern for Kaukauna Plan Commission presented a site plan to improve the city’s Fassbender Park.

’14 Hannah Becker (LS), of West Bend and ’14 Michael Koller (LS), of Oshkosh, both joined the news staff of the Watertown Daily Times.

’14 Hailey Breister (EHS), of Stillwater, Minn., joined the St. Croix Central School District as a high school Spanish teacher.

’14 Marissa Buzzanca (LS), of Mequon, is attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy.

’14 Julie (Edelstein) Meyer (MSE) and ’06 Joshua Meyer (LS), of Kimberly, were married on Sept. 6, 2014.

’14 Matthew Muelling (EHS), of Kodiak, Ala., will be teaching orchestra at Kodiak middle and high schools.

’14 Spencer Wagen (LS), of Waupaca, is the afternoon on-air host at WDUX Radio in Waupaca, Wis.
