The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Alumni Association Board of Directors elected seven new members and re-elected one existing board member to three-year terms that began July 1.

The Board of Directors is made up of 24 members who work to engage students and alumni on the local, state and national levels with the University by hosting social and networking events, promoting alumni benefits and developing alumni chapters. This year, the Board of Directors helped recruit alumni volunteers to serve as mentors for UW Oshkosh students taking part in the new University Studies Program .

The new members are Victor Alatorre ’97, MBA ’01, of Oshkosh; Mariah Haberman ’10, of Madison; Kevin Jaklin ’85 and MBA ’95, of Green Bay; Lynn (Zickuhr) Kleman ’86, of Oshkosh; Stacie Penney MBA ’13, of Oshkosh; Corey Vanderpoel ’99, of Hartland; and Manuel Vasquez MPA ’14, of Oshkosh.

Ross Mueller ’93, of Oshkosh, was re-elected for a second term. Mueller graduated with a bachelor’s in marketing and entrepreneurship and also earned his certified financial planning certificate. This will be his second, three-year term on the Alumni Board. Mueller works as a financial adviser for the CitizensFirst Wealth Management Division and has owned Ross Mueller Wealth Management since 1996.

New members:

Alatorre earned his bachelor’s degree in international business and his MBA at UW Oshkosh. He has been working for the University in the Department of Residence Life since 1997 and is currently the assistant director of residence life – information, technology and budgets. Alatorre also is the faculty adviser for the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and serves as the chair of the Wisconsin Resnet Group and as a senator for the Senate of Academic Staff. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013.

Haberman graduated with a degree in journalism. She works as a television co-host for Discover Wisconsin, the nation’s longest-running tourism show. She also works behind the scenes as a marketing strategist, managing social media, radio and TV promotions and the Discover Wisconsin radio station.

Jaklin, an investment manager with Schenk SC, is a chartered financial analyst. He also teaches and tutors macroeconomics and business classes at ITT Tech in Green Bay.  Jaklin joined the UW Oshkosh Alumni Association group on LinkedIn, where he learned about the openings on the board and wanted to become more involved with his alma mater.

Kleman, a physical education major, is a certified fundraising executive and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration with a healthcare emphasis. She is the manager of major and planned gifts at Mercy Medical Center.

Penney earned her MBA in project management at UW Oshkosh. She received the 2013 Outstanding MBA Graduate Award. Penney works as a logistics analyst II for Plexus Corporation in Neenah. She also volunteers her time at UW Oshkosh College of Business and MBA events.

Vanderpoel graduated with a BBA in finance and management information systems. He is currently the managing director of Schenck M&A Solutions. He also serves on the board of directors as the treasurer for HOPE Network, a nonprofit organization in Milwaukee that provides support for single mothers.

Vasquez earned his master’s degree in public administration from UW Oshkosh and works as the director of existing industry services for the Fox Cities Regional Partnership. He is responsible for establishing and building relationships with corporate leaders in the Fox Cities, identifying and addressing employer needs and working with private and public partners to help create local jobs.
