Race UnitySeveral University of Wisconsin Oshkosh organizations and departments are among the many proud sponsors of the 21st Annual Race Unity Social set for Abe Rochlin Park at Noon on Sunday, June 1.

Whether long-time Wisconsinites or newer arrivals from other states and countries, everyone will find the exciting mix of music, food, and fun to be a very special way to make new friends and have a great time with old ones.

Events will begin at noon and close at 4 p.m. All events and food samplings are free and open to the public.

Bring a lawn chair and an open heart and you’ll be guaranteed four hours of festivities and friendship! Abe Rochlin Park is at the corner of Congress Avenue and Sawyer Street that is closest to Titan Stadium.

“This is not only an opportunity to learn about other cultures but also an opportunity to celebrate the diversity that exists within our community,” Oshkosh Mayor Burk Tower said. “This is a very engaging event that draws together creative energy and drive from individuals and families from many important sections of our community. It is a positive, family-friendly event that builds a broader sense of community engagement.”

Funding for the Race Unity Social is provided by individuals and organizations including: the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and the UW Oshkosh Foundation. Participating food providers include: Mario’s Place, Manila Resto, Great Harvest Bakery of Neenah, Legend’s Sports Bar and Grill, Jade Dragon, Fat Mama’s, Saint Vincent de Paul, Casa Esther of Omro, Durango’s Mexican Food, our local Kwik Trip Stores, Pic’n’Save Foods and Java Warung Indonesian and Malaysian Restaurant in Appleton
